Baptisms in the Branch

Oh, happy day! Yesterday, after leaving home at six and heading out for a grueling 5-hour stint at the local bishops' storehouse, we rushed to the local meeting house, changed out of our grubbies and got ourselves ready for the baptism of two branch members -- Jennifer and Mike. They are the first baptisms in the branch that we had anything to do with. Mike was impressed by the example of his buddies in the company who are faithful LDS. He saw "something different" he told us, about these guys and just had to investigate what it was. Jennifer has been attending church on and off for years and decided to make a commitment. Alan and I taught her the discussions in the basement chapel of the Brooke Army Medical Center where we spend a couple of days a week visiting patients. She lives near the hospital and it was easy for her to meet us there. Alan confirmed Jennifer at chruch today and Mike's buddy confirmed him. Very uplifting, very big weekend for us all. Now we're teaching new member lessons to both of them. Yes, we're LOVING this mission!
